Step 1
After getting all of your kit together, don’t forget to check out the ‘What You Need’ tab above. Start by sketching a pizza-shaped slice on watercolour paper. Then prepare your palette; red, yellow, crimson, green and black.
Step 2
Create a light pink wash with a wide brush and work from light to dark to fill the watermelon, leaving a small piece at the top. In this space add you watermelon rind using a yellow wash.
Step 3
Build up the body of the watermelon with a darker red wash. Add the final edge of the rind in green, don’t forget to include some seeds and you’re done. Tasty!
Make sure to thoroughly wash your brushes between changing colour.
